You’re likely taking this course because your Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) or Employee Assistance Professional (EAP) recommended it after a drug or alcohol rule violation like a positive test or a refusal to test

What this course does:

Helps you complete part of your SAP’s recommendation.

What this course does NOT do:

It does not complete your return-to-duty process.
The certificate you earn is not the only thing your employer needs to return you to a safety-sensitive job.
It does not provide mental health counseling or substance use treatment. If you need counseling or treatment, we’ll provide resources to help you find qualified support in your area.

What is next?

This process is the path back to your safety-sensitive job. Your SAP will guide the next steps and may coordinate with your employer and any education, counseling, or treatment providers as allowed by program rules and applicable regulations.

How your SAP decides you’re compliant:

Your SAP determines whether you successfully followed the initial recommendations based on:

Written reports from education and/or treatment providers
Direct communication with providers (when applicable
Interviews with you
